MyDirectives® Teams with Humana

Digital Advance Care Planning for Select Members

CHICAGO – Dallas, Texas-based ADVault, Inc., announced today at the annual Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference that its and MyDirectives MOBILETM services will be used by health and well-being company Humana Inc. for select members seeking digital emergency, critical and advance care planning solutions.

An emergency, critical and advance care plan is a comprehensive document that can include elements of a living will, healthcare power of attorney and a person’s thoughts on specific medical treatments and preferences. A thorough plan, when accessible, can help people and their medical teams share important information about the individual’s healthcare.

Jeff Zucker, ADVault CEO, said, “The MyDirectives® system allows people to create, update, personalize and share their care plan with anyone at any time. The MyDirectives care plan not only includes a fully legal advance medical directive, but also consumers can enhance their plan by adding video and audio messages and by attaching other documents such as actual orders for life sustaining treatments. We are honored to add Humana to our growing list of partners that put a high priority on getting the individual’s voice heard during a health care crisis.”

“Making sure individuals can share important personal and medical information is critical in today’s evolving health care system, and we believe digital advance care planning is a great option for consumers,” said Dr. Eric Rackow, President of Humana At Home. “A digital directive’s ease, interoperability and accessibility empowers Humana’s members to take steps to improve their healthcare experience.”

HIMSS15 is the premier gathering of over 35,000 healthcare professionals with a focus on innovation and technology.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
